Samsung’s smartphone portfolio will consist of 50% Android and 33% bada

GT-I9000

One Samsung executive recently confirmed about the platform structure for upcoming Samsung smartphones. According to him, Samsung’s smartphone portfolio will have 50 percent of Android devices while its own bada platform will account for about 33 percent phones. They haven’t confirmed the status of Windows Mobile or LiMo but the Microsoft OS should understandably take the majority in the remaining share.

What’s your take? Shouldn’t Samsung adopt bada more since its their own platform and enjoy more control?

Here is the thing, I really want to see someone put the Samsung Wave thru it’s paces before I say that BADA would be worth making their #1 priority.

Them NOT adopting BADA more tells me they don’t have much faith in it.

Adopt Bada more? :o How more? 33% for the first year is very much! Nokia’s maemo on its first year took less than 5%! :P
With 33% Samsung seems to trust a lot its new OS! Also, Bada cant now take a bigger part because isnt ready yet to work perfectly with very big displays(3.5+ inches)… And Samsung cant promote hi-end phones which cost 500+ euros with an unknown(till now) platform, because its difficult for people to give so much money for something “unknown”! :)

hopefully they will promote some bada stuff due their european BADA trademark is already opposed as seen on antoher sumsunghub thread :D

btw. if those germans would sell their trademark to the chinese the market would be full of BADA phones ;)
