Samsung has announced that they’ve developed a new wireless USB solution that uses Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology. The dual-chip S3C2680/ S5M8311 solution is said to be apt for digital cameras, TVs, PCs, mobile handsets which is able to stream high definition content from the device to a tethered device while consuming very less power.

The wireless USB solution uses 65nm low power process technology that allows wireless transmission at a throughput rate of over 200Mbps and is 10 times power efficient than Wi-Fi 802.11g and consumes 30 percent less power than current wireless USB chipsets.

Furthermore, the chipset has a 128-bit AES encryption, NAND flash memory controller and WiMedia v.12 PHY support.

The chipset is currently available for sampling to select customers and will be mass produced in Q4 this year.
