yesterday Samsung officially announced OmniaPRO B7330 and now we’ve got the first preview of the phone. Phone Arena gave the prototype a quick run and came back impressed. According to them, aesthetically the phone looks “quite appealing and its color scheme is an eye-catcher”.

Being a non-touchscreen device, it’s a bit difficult to exploit advantages of WinMo 6.5 but the site reckons Samsung has done a good job. The UI is tweaked to provide three customizable home screens that add functionality to the phone.

All in all, though it does not seem to be a Blackberry killer, the phone is expected to do much better in its segment, competing with the E71 and the likes.

Samsung’s B7330 first showed its proof of existence when Wi-Fi certified the device and now we’ve got the images in addition to some specs. The phone is a clear upgrade to Omnia PRO B7320 and when you compare them head to head, the differences aren’t many. To start with, B7330 smartphone has a revamped key design and will come pre-installed with Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. The screen too is bumped to 2.63-inches (320×320) as compared to B7320’s 2.4-inch (320×240). Other changes are its 1500mAh battery, cut the thickness by around 2mm and 320MB of internal memory (we’re not sure if it includes ROM as well).

Amongst the common things, this phone too has HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.2MP camera, GPS and a microSD card slot.

It is expected to come out in mid-October.
