The video is titled “Samsung B7610” but if you’re acquainted with OmniaPRO’s B7610 design, you’ll know the phone in the video is not the same. So which phone is it? The video claims it to be “Houdini” and if you remember correctly, the name first appeared in T-Mobile’s leaked Android roadmap in May. Surprisingly, the phone featured in the video runs on WinMo OS and not Android.

In addition to the design change, Houdini has an interesting spec sheet, akin to B7610. The specs sheet include 800MHz CPU, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, four-row sliding QWERTY keyboard, 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen with WVGA (800×480) resolution, TouchWiz UI, Wi-Fi, GPS, 500MB internal memory with support of expanding up to 32GB, 5MP auto focus camera with power flash, FM Radio with RDS, DivX support, DNSe support, 3.5mm earphone jack, Opera browser, TV-out and 1500mAh battery. The video says the phone runs WinMo 6.1 OS but the chances are it will come pre-installed with WinMo 6.5 OS.

It seems like Samsung has got a full Omnia range ready to cater to different kinds of users. Samsung has created a clear segregation amongst Omnia phones bearing no physical keyboard and ones with physical QWERTY keyboard, irrespective of the screen supporting touch or not.

From the Omnia range, it’s the previously leaked Omnia II (I8000) that gets the official treatment. It has a vivid 3.7-inch AMOLED WVGA display that is equipped with Advanced R(esistive) Touch to initiate a faster and an accurate touch response. It runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro OS with TouchWiz 2.0 UI overlay and Media Gate, a six sided Cubic UI, pretty much like the Jet. Other features include DVD-like playback and recording, Wi-Fi, HSDPA/HSUPA (7.2/5.76Mbps), 32GB internal memory and microSD slot supporting up to 16GB.

Next up is OmniaLITE (B7300) that goes a bit light in features and presumably, the price tag. It has a TouchWiz 2.0 UI, push-email support, pre-installed MS Office Suite, Wi-Fi, Opera browser, HSDPA, multi-codec support, A-GPS and 3MP camera.

We already know about the OmniaPRO range but this time it is supported with few more specs. The OmniaPRO B7610 includes 3.5-inch AMOLED screen, MS Office Suite, Opera 9.5 browser, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, 5MP camera and A-GPS.

Finally it’s the OmniaPRO B7320 that comes with push-email support, quick access to IM services and social networking sites, FM Radio with RDS, Wi-Fi and 3MP camera.

All the phones will receive an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5, when it is available.

Samsung Louvre B7610 has been in the news since the beginning of the year and even showed its face once. Now, GPSAndCo have published an image along with the specs that is totally different from what we saw in April. Needless to say, out of both, the current one looks far more appealing and with the price and specs it claims, it sure is going to be lucrative buy.

Knowing Samsung’s love for AMOLED screens, Louvre will also have a 3.5-inch AMOLED screen supporting WVGA resolution. It will also have features you would expect from a smartphone, like GPS, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, high resolution camera and more. The phone runs on WinMo 6.1 overlaid with TouchWiz UI and will be upgradeable to WinMo 6.5 in the future.

Expected price? Between 250 to 500 Euros and will hit in July on Orange and SFR Business Team.

Full specifications:

Quadband (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz), GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA (3G +) to 7.2 Mbps
Integrated GPS receiver (A-GPS)
AMOLED Touch Screen size 3.5 inches with 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA) and 16 million colours
5 Megapixels Digital Camera, no flash
FM radio with RDS
1 GB ROM
Bluetooth 2.0
Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g
MiniUSB 2.0
MicroSDHC (up to 32 GB)
Accelerometer
Battery Lithium-Ion 1500 mAh
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
Dimensions: 11.2 x 5.8 x 1.6 cm

Thanks to eXpansys, we first caught wind of Louvre back in January. Even though we knew few of its features, there were no images of the phone – at least till now. A Dutch site has listed the phone showing a thumbnail of it and is pegged to launch on July 1.

The exact details are not confirmed but it is supposed to run on Windows Mobile 6.1 and feature GPS, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and 5MP camera (previous report claimed a 3.2MP sensor).
