Canada-based cellular operator, Rogers has confirmed to launch the recently announced Galaxy S II LTE. Although the release does not reveal the phone’s pricing, Rogers has confirmed to launch its LTE product line in fall which also includes the Samsung super phone. The Galaxy S II LTE is somewhat an upgrade to the original Galaxy S II as it comes with LTE support, a larger 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus WVGA display, faster 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1,850mAh battery.

As for the rest of the features, they’re in line with the original Galaxy S II like 8MP camera, 2MP front-facing camera, full HD playback and recording, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 16GB internal memory and microSD card slot.

Not the Galaxy Q we’ve been waiting for but Canadians can pick their sliding QWERTY version of Galaxy Q from Rogers. It’s an entry-level smartphone that goes for just $49.99 on a 3-year contract and features Android 2.2 OS (no word if it will be upgradeable to Android 2.3), horizontal sliding QWERTY keyboard, 3.2-inch HVGA display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3MP camera, GPS and a microSD card slot.

Users can also buy the phone for $249.99 without any contract.

The last we heard about Hercules, it was claimed to be a Galaxy S II variant for T-Mobile. While it may still be true, MobileSyrup has managed to click an image of Hercules that is meant to arrive on Telus in Canada. As we can see from the image, the phone looks slightly revamped with a more curved design and the presence of four touch-sensitive Android buttons. Thinness still seems the same as international Galaxy S II.

As for the meaty specs, the phone will mostly have a 4.5-inch display, 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, Gingerbread OS, 8MP camera with full HD recording support and supporting up to 42Mbps HSPA speed.

There are no details on the availability but we won’t be surprised to see the phone get the official treatment in the next 3-4 weeks.

Sweden’s Telenor have started pre-book sales of Samsung’s Galaxy S II from today. The dual-core powered Android 2.3 device is now available for pre-ordering on Telenor’s site for free if the user is willing to sign the 2-year contract with a monthly commitment of 299kr or will cost 5295kr if bought without any contractual obligation.

Meanwhile, MobileSyrup has got it confirmed by a Samsung exec that the Galaxy S II won’t be released anytime soon in Canada. Samsung is still talking with the carriers and might launch the phone by late Q2 or early Q3.

A new Samsung Windows Phone 7 has made its way out in some part of Canada. It’s the SGH-i916 meant for Rogers but going by the phone’s design, it does look like a Canadian version of Cetus (SGH-i917).

Amongst the known features of this variant, the phone has an 8GB internal storage, 4-inch Super AMOLED and if we were to borrow some of Cetus’ specs then it could have a 5MP camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth as well.

Canadian consumers can now buy Samsung’s Galaxy S phone. Galaxy S Vibrant is available in Bell stores where it goes from CA$149.95 on contract. Samsung is also running a contest where Galaxy S Vibrant owners stand a chance to win Lady Gaga concert tickets or 55-inch LED TV.

Samsung’s aggressive rollout of Galaxy S continues. Now they’ve announced the device for Canada and will be known as Galaxy S Vibrant. Unlike US variants, this Canadian version has the same design as the international one and boasts same specs like a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen, 1GHz Hummingbird CPU, HSPA, TouchWiz 3.0, 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, DLNA and microSD card slot.

No word on the price but it’s expected to be launched on Bell in summer.

Another interesting mention is that Galaxy S Vibrant is one of the Galaxy S smartphones and Canadian consumers should expect “release of additional Galaxy S smartphones throughout the rest of 2010.”

Samsung’s currently the market leader in phones in the North American region and according to the data released by Strategy Analytics, they’ve managed to widen the market share gap. As per the data, Samsung has recorded in excess of 30% percent (30.1% to be exact) market share selling around 12.3 million handsets for the period of January-March.

As for Canada, Samsung sold about 600,000 units in the first quarter taking their market share to 26.5 percent and the combined North America market share to 29.9 percent.

LG, Research in Motion, Motorola and Apple came in second, third, fourth, fifth respectively.

Someone just hit us up with this picture and some info of a Samsung device for Canada. It will come on Rogers as Forever (SGH-A886) and has mediocre specs, similar to AT&T’s Solstice but with different design. This one too has a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, TouchWiz UI, 3G, 2MP camera, Bluetooth, A-GPS and expandable memory via microSD slot.

No word on the pricing or availability yet.

Samsung’s Highlight that is currently selling in US will soon be seen across the border. While the availability and price is not known, the phone will be sold as Impact (SGH-T746) in Canada. The specs expectedly, remain unchanged.

The Impact will feature 3-inch touchscreen display with TouchWiz UI, 3MP camera, 3G, music player, A-GPS, Bluetooth, 60MB internal memory and microSD card slot (up to16GB).
