Samsung has been bolstering its portable media player range with Android-based players. They brought the 4- and 5-inch Galaxy Players and now they’ve come up with a smaller and more affordable version – Galaxy Player 3.6 (Galaxy S WiFi 3.6 in some regions).

Samsung recently announced the Galaxy Player 3.6 for South Korea and is expected to make its way to US in March or April. The Galaxy Player comes with a 3.65-inch TFT LCD, 1GHz processor, Android 2.3 OS, 2MP camera, video chat support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and more.

Samsung’s latest Galaxy Tab will soon hit United States via Verizon and we managed to get our hands early on the device at CES last week. One of the key differentiating factor betweens the Verizon variant and the international one is the inclusion of 4G LTE. Verizon’s Galaxy Tab 7.7 supports 4G LTE and a random test gave download speeds of around 20Mbps.

It is Samsung’s first tablet to feature a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display (1280×800), which means the colors are vivid, text is crisp and has a wide viewing angle. The tablet weighs mere 340g and has a brushed aluminum back that adds premium-ness to the product.

It runs Android 3.2 but will be updated to Android 4.0 in the near future and features a fast 1.4GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, TouchWiz UI, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Peel Smart Remote, 3MP and 2MP cameras, 720p HD video recording and 1080p HD video playback, 16GB internal memory and microSD card slot (up to 32GB).

Series 9 notebooks from Samsung are one of the thinnest notebooks in the industry but Samsung took a step further with the second generation of Series 9. An investment of over 33,000 hours in research, the second generation Series 9 notebook is created out of single aluminum shell and is 37 percent thinner (at 12.9mm) and 0.4 pounds lighter than the original Series 9 notebook. Moreover, Samsung has sand-blasted the notebook to keep it free from smudges and blemishes.

On the hardware front, the Series 9 will come in two screen options – 13.3-inch and 15-inch one. Both come with an HD+ display (1600×900 pixels) and SuperBright Plus that offers brightness to up to 400nits.

Series 9 notebook is powered by Intel’s Core i5 processor, 128GB SSD, USB 3.0, Wi-Fi, multi-card reader, FastBoot tech that boots in 9.8 seconds, Battery Life Plus that gives up to 1,500 battery charges before a replacement and a battery life of up to 7 hours.

Samsung will release Series 9 notebooks from February 27 for $1,400 for 13.3-inch and $1,500 for 15-inch.

Samsung will merge its home-grown bada OS with Tizen OS, an executive has confirmed. In an interview with Forbes, Tae-Jin Kang, Senior Vice President of Samsung’s Contents Planning Team confirmed that they’ll merge both the operating systems.

Kang refrained from giving an exact timeline but said the work is “already underway” and will support backward compatibility with existing bada apps.

Samsung however, is yet to decide on how much the bada OS will be integrated with Tizen. Kang said bada could power lower-end and single-core phones whereas Tizen will go for high-end devices that aren’t powered by Android or Windows Phone.

Kang also hinted on releasing a “non-phone” bada device, which could mean Samsung could come up with a bada tablet or a TV in the near future.

Samsung introduced a new range of Smart TVs at CES 2012 featuring a new way to interact. Dubbed as Smart Interaction, users can control the TV via Voice Recognition, Motion Control and Face Recognition.

Smart Interaction works in conjunction with the integrated camera that allows user to turn on or off the TV, access apps, surf the web etc.

Samsung showed off its transparent display technologies at the CES 2012. While we don’t have details on the big transparent display pictured above, the one pictured below is a 22-inch TFT LCD. It has a transparency of 15 percent, supports a resolution of 1680×1050 pixels and comes with an HDMI port.

The 22-inch display weighs just 800 grams.

UPDATE: The bigger screen is a 46-inch one with a resolution support of 1366×768 pixels. It also features an HDMI port.

Ok, not really a hands-on as Samsung prohibited anyone from touching it but here it is – pictures of the new Samsung Super OLED TV. Thin as a pencil, the 55-inch television looks really good with excellent color reproduction.

Samsung has a Chrome OS-powered Chromebook and are now showing an all-in-one-type solution like the new Series 3 Chromebox at the CES 2012. We’re light on the detailed specs but is targeted towards businesses due to its no-frills nature.

The 193x193x32.6mm Chromebox runs Chrome OS and is touted to be a “Zero Maintenance” machine since it does not require any anti-virus for virus protection and no data loss as everything is stored on the cloud.

Samsung has announced its newest Galaxy Tab for the American market. The Super AMOLED Plus-toting Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be launched by Verizon in the coming weeks and will be showcased at the CES from tomorrow.

The 7.9mm thick Galaxy Tab 7.7 boasts an HD display supporting a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and features 1.4GHz dual-core processor, Honeycomb 3.2 OS, Peel Smart Remote to work as an infrared remote, 4G LTE support, various Hubs support, 3MP rear-facing and 2MP front-facing cameras, 720p HD video recording and full HD playback support, Allshare, Wi-Fi, 16GB internal memory and microSD card slot.

Just as expected, Samsung announces its first OLED TV at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Expected to retail later this year, Samsung says this OLED TV will be produced from a single pane of glass and enable superior picture quality thanks to the Super OLED display technology that eliminates the need for a color filter as the self-emitting RGB pixels emit its own light.

Best of Innovations Honoree at CES 2012, the Samsung OLED TV supports both 2D and 3D viewing and features a dual-core processor for improved multi-tasking, web browsing along with latest Smart Interaction technology that allows users to control with voice control, motion control and face recognition.

Additionally, the TV integrates a camera, apps support and new AllShare Play service that allows accessing, managing and sharing user content.
