<del datetime="2011-10-10T03:32:32+00:00">Update: The Next Web has learned that the postponed event wouldn’t be delayed for long, with the new date for the Samsung Unpacked: Google Edition event being set for October 27. However, this time both companies would be presenting the new device and Ice cream sandwich in London.
</del>
Update – Statement by Samsung: Samsung and Google have decided to postpone the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event during the CTIA in San Diego, previously scheduled for Oct. 11. Under the current circumstances, both parties have agreed that this is not the appropriate time for the announcement of a new product. We ask for your understanding regarding any inconvenience caused. We will announce a new date and venue in due course.

Whilst Google has remained quiet on the matter, we spoke with someone close to the situation, who mentioned that we “should be there”, further reinforcing speculation that the search giant will use this event to unveil Ice Cream Sandwich and everything it has to offer.
In an turn of events, the Samsung Unpacked 2011 event has been called off. The launch of the new device, Nexus Prime and Ice cream sandwich will be not be happening next week. Google and Samsung released the following combined statement: “Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced.”

There were rumors flying high about the anticipated device and some time back we also has a video proof of the upcoming device. Stay tuned for more updates on this news. But we do hope that the day would not be much far before the device rolls out.

CTIA Enterprise & Applications expo has finalized some of the devices that are worthy enough to be known as “Hot for the Holidays.” The nominations may not have been surprising if the list did not mention an upcoming Samsung Mobile product. Unfortunately, we don’t have any details about the product apart from the fact that it has been nominated under the gaming and entertainment category, indicating the device’s multimedia prowess and is confirmed to be unveiled by Samsung at the event.

CTIA will announce the winner on Oct 12, a day after Samsung has scheduled an Unpacked event on Oct 11.

We’ve got the first glimpse of what we can expect from the Samsung Unpacked event tomorrow. PocketNow managed to get these shots from the CTIA show floor that clearly highlights some of the key features of Galaxy Tab 8.9.

Galaxy Tab 8.9 will be sleek, measuring just 8.6mm in thickness, weigh 470 grams and feature an 8.9-inch display supporting 1280×800 (WXGA), 1GHz dual-core processor and dual-band Wi-Fi support.

As we’d expected, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 will run on Honeycomb OS but as opposed to previous Honeycomb tablets we’ve seen, this one will have Samsung’s customized user interface on top of the OS with Live Panels showing emails, weather, stock etc. and Mini Apps Tray that will allow users to select 6 apps to “pop-up” without switching the screen.

Needless to say, Galaxy Tab 8.9 looks promising and we can expect all the details like availability and pricing to go official tomorrow.

Samsung has announced they’ll showcase their Smart LTE solution at CTIA tomorrow that will help to suffice needs of increasing mobile data traffic. The Smart LTE automatically optimizes networks to maximize the use of existing operator network resources and thus, reduce the total cost of investment.

Smart LTE lineup consists of SmartCluster, SmartCell, and Cloud solution that will help operators to improve the network quality and coverage and also ensure high-quality voice and data service in urban as well as rural areas.

As for different uses of the Smart LTE lineup, the SmartCluster will help to reduce interference between cells and sectors to expand coverage; SmartCell to increase capacity and hole filling in a cell; and Cloud Solution that converges cloud computing and cellular networks.

UPDATE: Galaxy Pro! Click here for images.

Remember the rumoured Galaxy Q from last year? Well, it seems the form factor will soon be a reality. We’ve received word from our trusted source that Samsung will unveil a QWERTY phone in candybar form factor, similar to BlackBerry. The phone will be branded under the Galaxy Series, which means it will run Android OS. Android 2.2 or 2.3, is not we’re sure of. As for aesthetics, it will be a bit wider than Galaxy S and sport a premium look.

We can expect the official acknowledgement at CTIA.
