Samsung releases Android 2.3.4 for Galaxy S II users in Brazil and Poland

Poland and Brazil are the first two countries to receive Android 2.3.4 for Galaxy S II. The XXKG5 and UHKG7 updates are available on Kies for users using Galaxy S II with Polish (XEO) and Brazilian (TTT) CSC respectively. The Android 2.3.4 is the latest Gingerbread update and most probably the last one before Google bumps the Android OS to Ice Cream Sandwich.

Interestingly, the KG5 update is missing Google Talk’s video functionality which is one of the main features in v2.3.4.

Samsung will release the 2.3.4 update in other regions soon or you can use Odin to flash the above mentioned firmware.

Samsung schedules an event on Aug 3 for Galaxy Tab 10.1 software update

Samsung is holding a media event in New York on Aug 3 to celebrate the launch of Galaxy Tab 10.1′s new software update. Having an event just for a software update is unheard of but it is understandable considering the update will bring lots of new features. Event attendees will be able to load their Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the latest update that brings features like TouchWiz UI, Mini Apps, revamped Media Hub, pre-loaded Amazon Cloud Player, Kindle app and bunch of enterprise apps.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 owners in New York will be able to install the latest update at the store on the same day between 1PM to 6PM whereas rest of the crowd will have to wait before Samsung officially releases it.

Galaxy A Gingerbread update available in South Korea

Samsung had promised Gingerbread update for its Galaxy A phone and here it is. Koreans using Galaxy A can upgrade their phone to the latest Android 2.3 OS. You can taste the Gingerbread goodness by downloading the update via Kies 2.0.

Android 2.3.4 for Galaxy S II leaked

The Android 2.3.4 update for Galaxy S II made its way out over the weekend. The build XXG1 looks to be a beta build but the XDA-Developers Forum is buzzing with choices of custom ROMs based on the latest Android OS.

Some of the reported improvements are no home screen lag, video chatting capability, improved battery life and more.

Android 2.3 released for Galaxy Tab in Taiwan, Sprint US will get it on July 5

Samsung has released the impending Gingerbread update for Galaxy Tab (P1000) users in Taiwan. Users can upgrade the tablet software to Android 2.3.3 where in addition to the OS upgrade, will find other improvements like Sketch Memo app, Chinese input and more.

Meanwhile, Galaxy Tab users on Sprint in United States can expect the Gingerbread release in the next few days. The EF17 update will be released on July 5 and it will be an OTA update which means users won’t have to hook their devices with Kies. The update will be released across a 4-day period.

Android 2.3.4 firmware leaked for Galaxy S (GT-I9000)

Samsung has just released Android 2.3.3 for its Galaxy S (I9000) device but it seems they’re already working on the next Android 2.3.4 version. Samfirmware has snooped a new firmware build for the phone that will upgrade it to Android 2.3.4, making it at par with Nexus S. The XXJVP build was released on June 3 and is now available for download on Samfirware.

No bada 1.2 update to WQVGA devices

Looks like users using a bada phone with WQVGA resolution will have to face some disappointment. Samsung bada’s official twitter account confirmed that bada 1.2 update won’t be released to WQVGA devices. Bada devices that support WQVGA resolution include Wave 525, 533, 575, 578 and 723.

As for bada 1.2, it is expected to release in more countries this month with bada 2.0 roll out expected from September.

Galaxy S II gets KE7 firmware update

Samsung has released yet another update for its Galaxy S II phone. The KE7 build is the third update for Galaxy S II and is said to be available in some European countries. There is no official changelog but some of the things reported by users are improvement in battery life, more free RAM on start-up and improved camera support.

Samsung updates Galaxy S II with two small updates

Samsung’s Galaxy S II went on sale early this month and it has already been treated with two firmware updates. Albeit both updates don’t bring any significant changes to the phone, it is good to see Samsung taking active measures to improve the overall experience.

Post two updates, the Galaxy S II will be bumped to i9100XWKE2 and will make Swype more responsive, improve connectivity issues and fixes automatic brightness.

The update will be available via Kies.

Samsung releases Galaxy Tab Android 2.3.3 update in Italy

Samsung has released the much awaited Gingerbread update for Galaxy Tab. The update seems to be available in Italy for now and upgrades the tablet to Android 2.3.3. The build number is XXJQ1 and is available for download via Kies.

The update will expectedly be released to other regions in the coming weeks.
