If black and white colored N510 are too dull for your taste Samsung has prepared a red special edition one too. Spotted at the IFA, this special edition notebook comes in red color with glossy black wavy lines to give it an artistic impression. Under the hood, it is still the same with a 11.6-inch screen (1366×768), 1.6GHz Atom N270 CPU, ION LE chipset, Nvidia GeForce 9400M GPU, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI-out, USB ports with one capable of charging USB gadgets even when the notebook is powered off, 1.3MP camera and a 6-cell battery that gives about 6.5 hours of runtime.

The price of this special edition is not known but it will be initially available in Korea.

Amidst so many gadgets at the IFA, Samsung also showed an electronic blackboard solution, the 650TS. The solution created for schools and private institutions, is a combination of a 65-inch touch enabled LCD panel, integrated PC, speakers and the blackboard software.

The UI of the blackboard is designed in such a way that even the first time users can easily use it. Frequently used functions like a drawer, marker pen, eraser are displayed as the icons on the screen for quicker access.

The 650TS is equipped with Contents Library that allows one to open images, flash content, movies and office files without needing to change the view. Users can also search on the internet right on the board as well as record lectures with the help of the integrated webcam.

Finally, the Classroom Management function enables the teacher to connect to the students’ terminal. A teacher can transmit the information from the blackboard to all the student terminals or can retrieve the screens of student terminals to be displayed on the blackboard.

Samsung is showing a robot vacuum cleaner at the IFA that will ensure you won’t have to move an inch or oversee anything while it is performing its cleaning chore. Called as the Furot II, it has an integrated camera and Visionary Mapping System that allows the robot cleaner to see, think and remember.

Furot II uses its camera to determine its location and with the help of sensors it evades all the possible obstructions while moving from one room to another. A fully charged Furot II is able to clean the house for about 90 minutes (single charge) but in case the battery is running low, recharge it on the charging station and it will automatically resume cleaning from where it left. It even remembers to go back to the charging station when the battery is low again. There’s a manual mode too where the user can send Furot II back to its station by pressing a button on the remote.

As far as Furot II’s cleaning prowess is concerned, the 10cm long device is equipped with HEPA 11 filter, high suction power, two-sided brush to clean inaccessible areas and has an ultralow noise level.

Being one of the frontrunners in adopting the OLED technology it is not surprising to see that Samsung will be bringing OLED equipped laptops next year. At the ongoing IFA expo, Samsung’s Kyu Uhm confirmed that OLED laptops will come by the end of 2010.

Samsung is the largest OLED screen manufacturer. And as soon as it’s available commercially for laptops we will adopt it. Probably sometime Q3 next year.

Samsung is undoubtedly bullish on the OLED technology and is now shifting its focus from AMOLED equipped phones to OLED TVs and laptops. Even a Gartner analyst believes the same. According to him, “mainstream OLED notebooks will become the norm over the next half-decade.”

UPDATE: Check out the video below.

Samsung is really having a busy IFA this year. Their latest unveiling involves what is known as the LED TV Couple. In simple words, Samsung will bundle a LED TV with a portable LED TV with a 7-inch screen. Use? Well, with the integration of Wi-Fi 802.11n, users can stream videos directly on the small TV and effectively watch two different things at the same time. But for any reason, if that feature seems a bit useless to you the LED TV Couple allows access to multimedia content from the internet, local PCs or USB devices through PC Content Sharing technology.

Other uses of the 7-inch display is that it can work as a remote control for the main TV set or can also work as a digital frame.

In addition to B3210 and other previously announced QWERTY equipped phones, Samsung also has B3410 on display. The horizontal QWERTY slider phone looks to be a mid-range solution sitting nicely between B3310 and top-end OmniaPRO model. The 15.9mm phone packs a 2.6-inch touchscreen display (QVGA resolution) running Samsung’s proprietary OS with TouchWiz UI, Bluetooth and a pre-installed app called as BT Messenger that helps to send messages to other Bluetooth devices in range. There’s also a camera at the back which I think must be a 3.2MP one.
