Galaxy Tab that went on sale on LG U+ last week has been averaging about 1000 units per day. LG says the numbers are pretty good and is a result of aggressive pricing plans offered with Samsung’s Android tablet.

LG U+ has got number of plans to go with and even sells for free if a user commits to a 3-year contract.

The tablet specs remain the same as the SKT one – 1GHz CPU, 7-inch WSVGA LCD, Android 2.2 OS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, T-DMB, 16GB internal memory and microSD card slot.

The phone is expected to feature a 3.7-inch AMOLED screen and one of our sources have chimed in to claim that it won’t be a Super AMOLED as is the case with SKT’s Galaxy S but will have an AMOLED Plus screen.

Now, if true, AMOLED Plus screens are like the ‘in-between’ of regular AMOLED and Super AMOLED that promises to have more touch sensitivity, improved visibility and clarity. Remaining features are expected to be the same.

Galaxy U will come out this month whereas KT’s Galaxy K will come out in September.

Samsung has announced that its Omnia II smartphone has surpassed 600,000 units in South Korea. Unlike in the international market, Samsung sells different versions of Omnia II on different cellular operators like T*Omnia II (left) for SKT, SHOW Omnia (center) for KT and OZ Omnia (right) for LGT.

Samsung says Omnia II sales averaged about 100,000 units per month and the reason the phone is selling well is because users are satisfied with Omnia II’s performance and its after-sales service.

The common features found in all these phones are 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, 800MHz processor, 5MP camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
