<p>After launching the 4-inch and 5-inch Galaxy Players in South Korea, Samsung has been announced a smaller version – Galaxy Player 3.6 (YP-GS1) for its domestic market. Samsung says users can take advantage of the device by using it for educational purposes or can even use it as a device to make or receive calls over Bluetooth. </p>
<p>The Galaxy Player 3.6 runs Android 2.3 OS and comes with features like SoundAlive, 3.65-inch display, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, 8 or 16GB of memory and more.</p>
<p>It will sell for 200,000 won (US$173).</p>

<p>Samsung has announced the availability of its small Android player – Galaxy S WiFi 3.6 which was <a href="http://sammyhub.com/2011/09/01/samsung-reveals-galaxy-s-wifi-3-6/" target="_blank">first shown</a> at the IFA in September. This “Multimedia Internet Device (MID)” is now available in Germany for 159 euros that gives the goodness of Android OS at an affordable price.</p>
<p>Galaxy S WiFi 3.6 is equipped with a 1GHz processor and comes with Android 2.3 OS, 3.65-inches HVGA (320&#215;480) display, 8GB internal memory, microSD card slot (up to 32GB), 720p HD video playback, 2MP main camera with a VGA cam on the front, GPS, Blutooth, Wi-Fi and pre-installed Qik app. </p>
<p>The player also features an earpiece and a mic for VoIP calls or can act as a “virtual smartphone” when the player is paired via Bluetooth with an Android tablet that supports calling functionality.</p>

Unlike the recent PMP range that has been powered by Android OS, these new players run on proprietary OS and are low on price. The R2 is a compact touchscreen player that comes with a 3-inch WQVGA LCD, FM Radio, Sound Alive, voice recorder and variety of multimedia codec support like DivX for video and mp3HD for adio. The PMP also comes with MusicSquare that sorts music tracks according to user&#8217;s preferences. YP-R2 will be available in 4GB or 8GB options and will sell for 149,000 won and 169,000 won respectively.</p>

<p>Samsung’s latest line of PMPs run on Android OS but the Korean company will soon launch an affordable touchscreen-equipped media player running proprietary OS in Russia and other parts of the globe. The YP-R2 PMP is really small that measures 50.9&#215;90.9&#215;8.6mm and is clearly influenced by Galaxy S II with its textured battery cover design. </p>
<p>The PMP comes with a 3-inch WQVGA LCD, 4 or 8GB of storage, SoundAlive, FM Radio, voice recorder, mic and a battery life of 40 hours for music and 4 hours for video. The player also supports variety of multimedia codecs, including mp3HD and has a feature called as Music Square that sorts and organizes music tracks according to user’s preferences. </p>

<p>Samsung has announced the global rollout of its Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and 5.0 Android-based media players with Russia and Switzerland being the first recipients of Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and 5.0 respectively. Upgradeable to Android 2.3 OS, the players feature a 4-inch (Galaxy S WiFi 4.0) and 5-inch (Galaxy S WiFi 5.0) display with mDNIe image engine, 1GHz processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Social Hub support, VoIP, VGA front and 3.2MP back facing cameras, 8 or 16GB internal memory and microSD card slot.</p>
<p>The players were only available in South Korea till now.</p>

<p>Russians will soon be able to pick up Samsung’s Android-based Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 PMPs. Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 are inspired by Samsung’s bestselling Galaxy S phone and will be released in April and May with storage option 8GB and 16GB respectively.</p>
<p>Both the players run on Android 2.2 that will be upgradeable to Android 2.3 and comes with similar features like a 1GHz CPU, 3.2MP rear camera, LED flash (Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 only), VGA camera for video calling, wide range of multimedia codec support, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, accelerometer, microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB.</p>
<p>Few features that distinguish both these players are its screen – Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 has a WVGA Super Clear LCD whereas Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 has a normal TFT LCD with WVGA resolution support; internal memory and battery capacity which is 1200mAh in 4.0 and 2500mAh in 5.0.</p>
<p>The 4-inch model will sell for 9,990 rubles and 5-inch player will go for 12,990 rubles.</p>
