A new report courtesy ETNews claims some new information about the upcoming Galaxy S III. According to the “industry sources” ETNews cites, the upcoming Galaxy S flagship device will be one of the slimmest at 7mm and will release in May. Despite the thinner form factor, the site says, the camera is expected to be identical to Galaxy S II that will result in a bit of protrusion.

As for the features, the phone is expected to run on Android 4.0, 8MP and 2MP cameras, AMOLED display, LTE, full HD support, 3D support and more.

Samsung confirmed that they won’t unveil the new device at Mobile World Congress later this month but hold a dedicated event before end of the first half of this year.

UPDATE: As pointed out in the comments, this is a flexible display prototype showcased at CES 2011. Check out the video.

Few pictures of an unnamed Samsung device has been posted by a Chinese website. Although the site claims it to be of Galaxy S III, we don’t think that is the case. The images seem to be more of a PMP than a smartphone.

Anyways, interesting thing about the device is that it sports a flexible display. Samsung had hinted about the commercial availability of flexible displays in 2012 and it seems a working prototype is already floating around.

Moreover, the site claims that this Galaxy S III will be powered by a quad-core Exynos processor, 2GB RAM, Android 4.0 OS, 4.6-inch 720p HD Super AMOLED Plus 3D display and 12MP camera.

So what do you think of the images? Fake or not.

We first heard about the Galaxy Tab 11.6 back in December when BGR claimed the Korean giant to unveil the tablet at Mobile World Congress. Now a new report published by Android And Me claims the same. The report says Samsung will introduce the next-generation Galaxy Tab at MWC next month which will have a display larger than the current Galaxy Tab 10.1.

However, the important thing will be the integration of Exynos 5250, which Samsung will start mass producing in Q2 2012. If you’re unaware, Exyno 5250 is a dual-core SoC that features a clock speed of 2GHz and display resolution support of 2560×1600 and Mali-T604 GPU.

Mobile World Congress (MWC) is one of the world’s biggest shows related to mobile devices and if we go by The Verge’s latest report, MWC might not host the most important unveiling. According to the site’s sources, Samsung’s Galaxy S III won’t show its face at MWC 2012 next month. Surprising as it may sound, the reason for the delayed announcement is speculated to shorten the gap between the global and US launch.

To rehash, Samsung announced the Galaxy S II at MWC last year in February where the global variant went on sale in April compared to US variants that went on sale from September.

Of course, this is all unconfirmed but given the site’s track record, it could all be true. Let’s hope Samsung clears the air pretty soon.

Samsung has an AMOLED tablet – Galaxy Tab 7.7 but it seems we might see a new albeit slightly smaller variant in the Galaxy Tab range. OLED Display reports that Samsung’s display manufacturing arm, Samsung Mobile Display (SMD) has listed a 7-inch OLED panel on their site. Since this subsidiary manufactures display panels for Samsung Electronics’ mobile devices, we cannot rule out the possibility of a 7-inch AMOLED tablet.

On the specs front, the 7-inch AMOLED panel produced by SMD will feature a WSVGA resolution (1024×600), just like Samsung’s other 7-inch tablets. It will have a brightness of 400nits, which is 150nits more than Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7’s AMOLED display panel.

Samsung announced the Galaxy S II at MWC early this year and it seems they’re ready to unveil the successor in the next couple of months. According to a report from ETNews, Samsung is expected to announce Galaxy S3 at MWC expo and will go on sale sometime in second quarter of next year. Expectedly, it will one up the current Galaxy S flagship device with quad-core CPU and hopefully an HD display, Android 4.0 OS and more.

Samsung is also said to be developing 3D technologies for Android devices. Tentatively named Galaxy S 3D, it will pit against the likes LG’s Optimus 3D and HTC EVO 3D. In addition to a 3D screen, the device will be able to record images and videos in three-dimension. 3D handset may also debut in Q2 2012.

Samsung adopts a multi-OS strategy but apparently the Korean giant didn’t see any value in developing a handset with Research in Motion’s BlackBerry OS. BlackBerry maker reportedly approached mobile phone makers, including Samsung to license its BlackBerry OS but was eventually turned down, according to reports on Reuters and WSJ.

Samsung currently licenses Microsoft’s Windows Phone and Google’s Android OS and also develops on its own bada OS.
