Samsung has snagged world renowned CLIO award for its marketing efforts in the online space for ST1000 digital camera. The winning campaign was created by Samsung with help from Austria’s Schonbrunn Zoo.

Samsung gave the camera to Zoo’s 33-year old Orangutan named Nonja. All the images and videos captured were then uploaded by Nonja on its Facebook account and a microsite, thus emphasizing on ST1000’s easy-to-use wireless feature. The microsite has received more than 200,000 pageviews worldwide.

ST1000 can shoot pictures at 12.2 megapixel resolution and features 5X optical zoom, 3.5-inch touchscreen, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and more.

To enable ST1000/CL65 owners use the built-in Wi-Fi function at public places, Samsung is planning to tie up with public Wi-Fi providers. With the partnership in place, a ST1000 user can directly upload images from places like Starbucks instead of reaching home and then uploading. Samsung will look to tie up with different service providers in different countries in the next 12 months.

The ST1000/CL65 was launched last week as a part of its Tap and Take campaign. The camera boasts 12.2MP, 3.5-inch touchscreen display, GPS,geo-tagging, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 720p HD video recording and more.

CNET today unknowingly broke the embargo related to Samsung digital cameras. Though they have taken it down now, three digital cameras were found lurking on Amazon UK’s website since July 29. Off the three, we’ve written about ST1000 but ST500 and ST550 looks to be new and matches well with the description of Samsung’s Tap and Take campaign.

Both, ST500 and ST550 come with dual screen – one at the rear (3-inch for ST500 and 3.5-inch for ST550) acting as the main and a 1.5-inch on the front that aptly follows the ‘Tap and Take’ function. Rest of the specs are identical with 12MP camera resolution, 4.6x optical zoom, Schneider Kreuznach lens and Dual-image stabilization.

The UK prices for the cameras are £249 for ST500, £299.00 for ST550 and £349.00 for ST1000.

We already had decent information on Samsung’s ST1000/CL65 digital camera but now we’ve got its detailed features, price and pictures. Thanks to an e-tailer, Laskys, they have listed the camera for £349.99 ($584).

The specs remain the same except for less 0.2 megapixels and more optical zoom. It can take pictures at 12.2MP resolution, boasts Schneider-Kreuznach lens, 5X optical zoom, 3.5-inch touchscreen display that supports finger gestures, image stabilization, sensitivity ranging from ISO 80 to 4800, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 10 shooting modes.

The camera also features face detection (up to 10 faces) and can also prioritize them on the basis of most clicked face. Smile Shot, Blink Detection, Touch focus are amongst other features.

The camera will be officially unveiled on August 13.

Samsung is preparing a decently spec’d digital camera, reveals a listing at Bluetooth. Dubbed as the VLUU ST1000/ST1000/CL65, the digital camera will supposedly belong to the point-and-shoot category and pack the following features.
