Verizon a few days back started pushing an over-the-air software update for Samsung’s Intensity and Trance squashing some bugs and adding some enhancements. While all went hunky dory for Intensity users, the official software update for Trance turned a bit nasty.

Mobile Crunch is hearing reports of Trance behaving erratically after the update and automatically resets when a user tries to access his SMS inbox.

It is safe to assume that a patch would be on its way but a temporary workaround – which seemingly works – is to delete all read messages in the inbox.

Verizon has announced a 3 Day sale (started on 16) that offers Samsung’s Trance for free provided you sign a 2-year contract with them. Trance is an entry level phone with decent features like ICEpower speakers by Bang & Olufsen, touch sensitive front controls, 1GB internal memory with up to 16GB expandable, A-GPS, Bluetooth and a 1.3MP camera.

There’s no harm trying the phone out for free and if you’re unsatisfied with it, 30-day money back guarantee comes to your rescue.
