Strategy Analytics: Samsung is now the biggest handset maker in the world

April 27, 2012 By kunal 1 Comment

Research firm Strategy Analytics says Samsung has now surpassed Nokia to become the world’s top handset manufacturer. Samsung ended Nokia’s 14-year supremacy by shipping 93.5m units in the last quarter with a 25.4 percent market share.

Sale of Galaxy smartphones in the last quarter was a major reason for Samsung to post a positive Q1 2012 result.
