Earlier this year, Samsung was caught smearing HTC in Taiwan. This prompted an investigation from Taiwan’s Fair Trade Commission and they’ve now announced their verdict. According to Focus Taiwan, FTC has fined Samsung Taiwan NT$10 million for Samsung’s role in spreading malicious comments against HTC. The posts originated on behalf of Samsung were found to be “in violation of fair trade rules.”

The two marketing agencies that Samsung hired to do the job were also fined NT$3 million and NT$50,000.
