Samsung Display, subsidiary of Samsung Electronics has announced that they’ll build a display assembly plant in Vietnam. According to Reuters, the plant will be first for Samsung in the country and will spend about $1 billion to construct it.

The production capacity or the type of display that will be manufactured in the facility is yet to be decided but the plant will be located in the Bac Ninh province and will be operational some time in 2015.

The plant will enable Samsung to lower the display production cost as well as suffice demand from Samsung Electronics and other customers.
