The wait is finally over. Samsung has announced the arrival of the Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy S II. The update will be initially available in Poland, Hungary, Sweden & South Korea and will be gradually rolled to other regions.
The new upgrade will bring some features like Face Unlock allowing users to unlock their phone using face recognition, take snapshot during video recording, photo editor and more.
Other devices like Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 10.1 will also be upgraded to Android 4.0 in the coming weeks.
Moreover, Samsung also announced Android 2.3 updates to devices like Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab 7, Galaxy S Plus, Galaxy SCL, Galaxy W, Galaxy Hoppin, Galaxy and M Style. Galaxy S upgrade will be a value pack upgrade featuring Photo Editor, Face Unlock, Snapshot etc.
UPDATE: Samsung UK will release the Galaxy S II ICS update from March 19. Understandably, unlocked handsets will receive the update first followed by operator-branded Galaxy S IIs that are subject to additional tests.
