Wave M (GT-S7250) Hands-on

Samsung Wave M (GT-S7250)

Samsung kicked off its global bada developer day tour last week in India and as an incentive to develop apps on bada 2.0, Samsung gave away a Wave M to all devs. We’ve been playing with the device since then and decided to post this brief hands-on before posting a detailed preview.

Wave M is a mid-range device that runs on Samsung’s newly announced bada 2.0 OS. The phone’s front is somewhat similar to Galaxy Ace but the back sports a brushed metal finish. Although the back is still plastic though, as a whole, the build quality of the device is fairly good.

Wave M comes with a 3.65-inch display and disappointingly, the colors on the HVGA TFT LCD look washed out. The touch response was mediocre as well. As for the user interface, Wave M comes with TouchWiz that has been developed to work more or less like Android. You’ve now got the customized Live Panel option, Folders, a more interactive lock screen, Chaton etc.

The phone features Wi-Fi Direct and NFC, which is even missing in top tier Wave 3.

Do you have any questions about Wave M or bada 2.0? We’ll try and answer them before the preview.

The app works fine but don’t really have a contact who has Chaton.

Haven’t really tried Chaton due to lack of other Chaton contacts.
