Samsung LED to merge with Samsung Electronics

December 26, 2011 By kunal Leave a Comment

It’s a day of mergers and acquisitions. After confirming the S-LCD takeover to make it a wholly-owned Samsung Electronics subsidiary, Samsung Electronics will absorb its another subsidiary, Samsung LED.

Samsung Electronics had an equal stake in the LED subsidiary with Samsung Electro-Mechanics but with the merger, Samsung Electronics will merge the unit with its component division that produces semiconductors and LCD panels.

Samsung LED was a spin-off unit of Electro-Mechanics which was created in 2009.
