U.S. ITC Judge says Samsung infringes on two Kodak’s patents

December 21, 2009 By kunal Leave a Comment

Samsung Koda

Kodak, who had filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission against Samsung last year has won the initial round. The ITC judge ruled that Samsung did infringe on Kodak’s said patents and will be further scrutinized by the commission.

The infringing patent is related to how a camera in a phone captures, compresses, stores and previews photos. If the final ruling favors Kodak, it could mean an end on imports of infringing Samsung phones (which are unknown at the moment).

Kodak had also filed a complaint against LG but the recent agreement between the two led to an end to all ongoing disputes.
