Samsung reportedly in talks with Nvidia for Tegra 2-based Galaxy Tab 2?

September 15, 2010 By kunal 3 Comments

Galaxy Tab

Samsung’s first iteration of Galaxy Tab is not yet out in the market and we’re already hearing rumors related to its successor. RCRWireless’s “highly reliable source” in Seoul claims that Samsung is in talks with Nvidia to use Tegra 2 for Galaxy Tab 2. The Tab 2 will run Android’s Honeycomb version and is set for a Q2 2011 launch, which is also said to be time-frame of Honeycomb’s release.

We’re not sure about this one because if Samsung wants to go with a powerful processor for the next Tab version, they can go with the in-house developed dual-core AP (codenamed Orion) based on ARM Cortex A9.

I don’t think, Samsung has its own Orion CPU.
