Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo will feature 5-inch display, 1.2GHz quad-core CPU

Galaxy Grand Neo

Galaxy Grand’s big screen and affordable price tag has proved a hit amongst consumers. Samsung is looking to cash on the Galaxy Grand brand with a new device. According to our tipster, Samsung will announce Galaxy Grand Neo that will feature a 5-inch WVGA display but upgrade the processor to a 1.2GHz quad-core A7 processor, similar to what you have on the Galaxy Grand 2 (our hands-on).

We’re not sure if Samsung will integrate the soft-touch back found on the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Grand 2 but given the history, we will most likely see a similar design on the Galaxy Grand Neo. The tipster also claims the device will have Android 4.3 and the usual Samsung enhancements including Multi Window.

As for the price, we can expect it to be tad cheaper than the Galaxy Grand 2.

Thanks, tipster!

Going by the leaked specs, looks like it. Neo would be the marketed name

As long as it has 1GB RAM, it might be pretty decent in performance terms,
seeing as it has an A7 1.2Ghz quad, but a 5″ WVGA screen just doesn’t
sound good enough in 2014. Also, the out of whack 5:3 aspect ratio is gonna
make it weird to hold at it’s relatively large size.

A qHD (960×540) one was the least Sammy could have done, if not a 720p HD one. Would have had a nice 16:9 aspect ratio.
