Samsung 2GB LPDDR3 Mobile RAM Now Into Mass Production

September 18, 2012 By kunal 1 Comment

2GB LPDDR3

Samsung confirmed two major developments at the Samsung Mobile Solutions Forum 2012 in Taiwan today. First is the mass production of the 128GB eMMC and now the 2GB low power double-data-rate 3 (LPDDR3) RAM for mobile devices. Samsung says the new DRAM uses 30nm class technology and is the industry’s first 2GB LPDDR3 RAM to enter mass production. Achieving a data transfer speed of up to 1600 megabits per second (Mbps) per pin, the RAM is 50 percent faster than the LPDDR2 RAM.
