We’re not sure if leaks helped Samsung and AT&T to announce the Galaxy S5 Active early but here it is. The phone has been announced by AT&T and is now on sale on AT&T online and regular retail stores. In addition to IP67 rating that the original Galaxy S5 has, the Galaxy S5 Active also adheres to the Mil-STD 810G to withstand shock, temperature, humidity, rain and altitude extremities.
The phone is packed with the same Galaxy S5 hardware like 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display, 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat, 16 megapixel camera, heart rate sensor, microSD card slot, 16GB internal memory, 2800mAh battery and a dedicated Activity Zone app.
The phone is available in three colours – Camo Green, Titanium Gray and Ruby Red for $27.50 per month with AT&T Next 18, $35.75 per month with AT&T Next 12 or $199 with a two-year agreement.
