Samsung Exynos 4212 AP

Samsung has confirmed that they’ve developed a new Exynos System-on-Chip (SoC) using the 32nm High-K Metal Gate (HKMG) low-power process. The Exynos 4212 is a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 that is clocked at a speed of 1.5GHz.

The new chip that will be used in smartphones and tablets is 30 percent more power efficient, thanks to its process.

Moreover, the Exynos 4212’s GPU is now capable to deliver 50 percent higher 3D graphics and comes with a support for advanced codec accelerators for images, 1080p HD video recording and playback and HDMI 1.4 support.

Samsung will sample the new processor to select companies in Q4 2011 but is showcased the chip at Samsung Mobile Solutions Forum in Taiwan.
