Judge orders Apple UK to state Samsung didn’t copy iPad

July 19, 2012 By kunal Leave a Comment

Galaxy Tab

If you’re unaware, UK court Judge Colin Birss recently ruled that Samsung’s Galaxy Tab didn’t infringe Apple’s design patents since “they’re not as cool” as the iPad. Now the judge ordered Apple to post a notice on their website for six months and advertise in newspapers and magazines stating that Samsung’s tablet is not a copy of the iPad.

The order is interesting to say the least and is said to correct the image of Samsung’s product that may have been tarnished during the lawsuit.

Samsung also asked the judge to grant an injunction against Apple for saying Galaxy range infringed their patents but the judge disallowed saying “they are entitled to their opinion.”
