Tokyo Court Rules Apple Didn’t Infringe Samsung Patents

Samsung had a reason to cheer in August when the Japanese court sided with them but not this time as the court has turned down Samsung’s request to ban Apple products. The Tokyo Court ruled that Apple did not infringe Samsung’s patents, one which involved the tech for downloading an app and another for airplane mode.

Samsung wanted iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S to be banned but the court came to the conclusion that Apple’s implementation of app downloading is different and the airplane mode is “an extension of past innovations.”

Apple also confirmed last week to appeal the August 31 decision.
