UPDATE: Samsung and its affiliate, Cheil Industries has bought the company. More here.

Back in 2011, Samsung’s Venture Capital arm, Samsung Venture Investment Corporation (SVIC) invested in a German company called Novaled.

Now Bloomberg reports that the Samsung Group is in final stages to acquire Novaled. The confirmation also came from Cheil Industries – Samsung-owned company – who said they’re “internally reviewing plans” to acquire the company.

The announcement is expected to come out later this week and Bloomberg suggests Samsung could buy the company for more than $200 million.

Novaled specialises in PIN OLED technology that allows to reduce energy consumption while at the same time enhance OLED panel’s shelf life.
