Samsung has introduced three new phones on three different platforms for Indian consumers. First up is the bada flagship Wave 3 that runs the latest bada 2.0 OS. Priced at Rs. 19,600, Wave 3 is powered by a 1.4GHz processor, 14.4Mbps HSDPA, 5MP camera, 720p HD video recording, Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct support, GPS, Bluetooth and 1500mAh battery. The phone will be available from next month.
Next is the affordable Galaxy Y. Galaxy Y will go for a price of just over Rs. 7,800 and is targeted at first time smartphone users who does not want to spend much. Galaxy Y runs Android 2.3 OS. It comes with an 832MHz CPU, a 3-inch QVGA display, 2MP camera, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, 7.2Mbps, support for various Hubs, TouchWiz UI and 1200mAh battery.
Finally, it’s the Omnia W which is Samsung’s first Windows Phone 7 device for Indian users. Expected next month, the Omnia W is a decently spec’d phone that runs the latest version of Windows Phone aka Mango OS. For an asking price of Rs. 19,900, Omnia W brings a 1.4GHz processor, 14.4Mbps HSPA, 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display, 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 8GB internal memory, A-GPS, Hubs support and 1500mAh battery.
