Wall Street Journal claims Samsung will be granted a security approval by the US Department of Defense that will allow government agencies to use the Galaxy line of smartphones.
The approval is expected in the coming weeks where both Samsung and Apple will get the approval and will fight for contracts in a market where BlackBerry devices are still prevalent.
The approval from the US DoD would mean a huge win for Samsung as the Korean company is trying to convince businesses to adopt their Android devices that offers improved security with their recently announced KNOX solution.
The WSJ also reports that Samsung held a meeting in London last month with Samsung execs and technology security experts from government agencies where the Korean company confirmed the imminent launch of a rugged version of Galaxy S4 dubbed as the Galaxy S4 Active.
