Galaxy S4 and its retail packaging won some accolades by the Underwriters Laboratories last month and now for the second time, the device has earned a TCO certification for its eco-friendliness. TCO Development focuses on the sustainability in the IT sector and they found that Galaxy S4 met the criteria, making it the first smartphone to get certified by TCO.
TCO certifications are given to products that meet social, environmental and economic viability requirements. Samsung successfully demonstrated that the Galaxy S4’s manufacturing is compliant with International Labour Organization and United Nation convention, the phone is free from many hazardous materials and has a reliable design and power efficient charger.
