Well, it’s official! Samsung has announced the Galaxy S5 4G, making it one of the first Samsung devices to support 4G LTE in India. In addition to enabling faster internet surfing speeds, the Galaxy S5 4G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz quad-core processor.
This is a big turnaround as Samsung flagship smartphones in India have been sold with Exynos in India until now.
We’re not sure if Samsung will continue selling the Exynos variant but it wouldn’t hurt if consumers get an additional option.
As for the rest of the specs, we’re looking at the same Exynos-powered Galaxy S5 with a 5.1-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, IP67 rated body, 16 megapixel main camera and front-facing 2 megapixel camera.
The phone is priced at Rs. 53,500 (will be cheaper in the market) and Airtel 4G customers will get 5GB of data for free for first two months.
