If one country Samsung is banking on to bring the company back to its record profitability, it’s Vietnam. According to a Reuters report, Samsung is looking to invest $3 billion to build a smartphone factory in the country.
The plant will be located in the Thai Nguyen region, just like its previous smartphone factory and is the fourth investment by the Samsung Group in the last two years.
Samsung has confirmed the investment but the schedule and how Samsung plans to spend is unclear at the moment.
In March 2013, Samsung held a groundbreaking ceremony for its $2 billion smartphone plant and confirmed to invest $1 billion and $560 million towards a display assembly and TV plant earlier this year.
