Samsung starts rolling out Lollipop update for Galaxy S5 in India

Hot on the heels of Galaxy S6’s announcement, Samsung has started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Indian Galaxy S5 customers. The OTA update started appearing on devices a few hours ago and will be rolled out to all Galaxy S5 users in the coming days. It’s a huge 875MB update and takes about 3GB of memory to install the OS.

Interestingly, the build G900HXXU1BOC3 on the Indian Galaxy S5 variant is based on Android 5.0 compared to the Galaxy S4 (I9500) that is based on Android 5.0.1.

The Lollipop update brings improved user interface with brighter colours, better performance and battery life.
