Samsung 850 EVO M.2 and mSATA SSD

Samsung has launched the 850 EVO M.2 and 850 EVO mSATA SSD in 53 countries. These storage solutions are new form factors of the 850 EVO SSD that was announced last year and adopts Samsung’s 3D V-NAND technology that ensures improved performance.

Targeted at ultrathin PCs, the M.2 and mSATA SSDs are one-tenth the weight of a traditional 2.5-inch SSD and feature 3-bit 3D V-NAND technology that overcomes the density limitations of conventional planar NAND architecture.

The Samsung 850 EVO mSATA comes in capacities starting from 120GB to 1TB with a read/write speeds of up to 540MB/s and 520 MB/s respectively.

The 850 EVO M.2 ranges from 120gB to 500GB and boasts the same read speed as the 850 mSATA and write speeds of up to 500MB/s.

Additionally, the drives feature AES 256-bit hardware-based encryption and TurboWrite technology on the 500GB and 1TB models that offer random write speeds of up to 88K IOPS and random read speeds of up to 97K IOPS.
