Verizon launches femtocell made by Samsung

Verizon is offering a femtocell device which is produced by Samsung. Verizon’s Wireless Extender works the same way as Sprint’s Airave. Airave was also provided by Samsung.

A femtocell device helps to boost indoor network coverage where the standard cell coverage cannot reach. Using it is pretty simple. Just hook the device to a power outlet and connect it to your home’s internet connection. All the calls will be routed via your broadband connection while you’re in the house and will automatically switch to the standard cellular network outside.

Verizon Wireless Extender will cost a one-time $249.
