Another Android phone or I7500 with US branding?

Yesterday, T-Mobile USA’s Android roadmap was all over the web possibly paving the path of future Android phones. It did highlight on other company’s Android phones but since this is a Samsung oriented blog, I will concentrate on Korean’s offering.

According to the document, a device named Houdini will supposedly release sometime in fall (between Sept. 9 to Nov. 3). So is it an altogether new device or just an American name for I7500 since the phone works on 1,700MHz band (same as T-Mobile)?

If we keep both the phones side-by-side, we can see that the phone’s look doesn’t match. Houdini seems to have a squarish D-pad while I7500 sports a different one. Actually, Houdini looks similar to the first Samsung Android phone which we spied in March.

Ok, this observation could be totally wrong as the phone used in place for Houdini could just be a placeholder but we can’t rule out the possibility coz they are looking to release at least 3 Android phones this year.

What do you think?
