Samsung licenses ARM Mali-SVG-t software

July 9, 2009 By kunal Leave a Comment

mali-svg-t

ARM and Samsung have entered into an agreement to license ARM’s Mali-SVG-t software for better 2D graphics rendering in mobile phones and easy scaling for different display resolutions.

Most of the Samsung phones are powered by ARM processor and with Mali-SVG-t software, the phone can benefit from the SVG-t 1.2 specification and OpenVG graphics chips, which the Mali GPUs are compliant of.

There’s no indication which Samsung phones will take advantage of this but I reckon most of the future Samsung smartphones will implement it.
