Samsung Electronics have announced a new initiative that will try to make Samsung one of the leading green technology companies by 2013. To make it possible, they have etched out a plan known as Eco-Management 2013 that basically lays out four core objectives – reducing greenhouse gas emissions and cutting indirect greenhouse gas emissions, investing 5.4 trillion KRW, trying to achieve 100 percent eco-friendliness of the products as well as exceed existing benchmarks and develop green partnerships with suppliers and partners.

Good to see that Samsung is embarking on critical eco friendly intiatives when it comes to technology. I know Samsung doesn’t score particularly high at the moment on the Greenpeace IT gauge, but I am sure this would be important as an initiative.
