February 1, 2010 By kunal 3 Comments

Curved AMOLED Display

Samsung’s subsidiary, Samsung Mobile Display (SMD) has announced to start mass production of AMOLED panels with embedded touch sensor. Samsung reckons by integrating the touch sensor with the display, users can get high-quality, vivid images and on the manufacturing front, a simplified process.

Samsung will be the first company to place a touch sensor – just 0.001mm thick – over an AMOLED substrate. It will be a 3.3-inch WVGA (800×480) display.

The mass production is expected to start in early March.
