As expected, Samsung Digital Imaging (SDI) will be a part of Samsung Electronics from tomorrow. The move disclosure had come late last year and was recently approved by the shareholders in South Korea. Even the European Commission gave a nod to the approval saying the merger “would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA)”.

The merger will benefit both the companies since Samsung Electronics will be able to use SDIs technologies whereas SDI can take advantage of Samsung Electronics’ vast global marketing and distribution network.
