Samsung AMOLED Beam comes to South Korea

April 14, 2010 By kunal 1 Comment

AMOLED Beam (SPH-W9600)

Samsung who was teasing the AMOLED Beam at MWC in February has made the phone official for South Korea albeit with slightly different specs. The phone (SPH-W9600) takes the wheel from Haptic Beam (SPH-W7900) and will be available via KT.

The phone integrates a pico projector that can project content from the phone to a size of up to 50-inches at WVGA (800×480) resolution. Samsung says AMOLED Beam’s contrast and brightness has been improved by 2.5 and 1.5 times respectively as compared to Haptic Beam.

Additionally, the phone has a 3.3-inch WVGA AMOLED display, 5MP camera, T-DMB, Bluetooth, up to 16GB external memory support, DivX playback, Office files support and more.

It will sell for 900,000 won ($806).
