Samsung has agreed to use Microsoft’s PlayReady DRM technology in its consumer electronics devices. Samsung mobile phones, music players, televisions and other devices will make use of PlayReady in an attempt to “improve flexibility for consumers looking to transfer and enjoy digital content on a range of devices”.

Samsung says they’ll completely migrate from Windows Media DRM to PlayReady by 2012 whereas their first product integrating PlayReady will come out later this year.
