Samsung Super AMOLED tested against other mobile displays

If you’re wondering how does Samsung’s Super AMOLED fare against the competition, DisplayMate has done a thorough analysis of the mobile displays. They’ve pitted the Super AMOLED against all available mobile displays and have found that although Super AMOLED boasts excellent viewing angle and improved power consumption, the colors are gaudy and over saturated when compared to a LCD. Also, due to the PenTile arrangement of the OLEDs, the screen looks great while viewing images but tend to show pixels while viewing text.

However, despite its shortcomings DisplayMate says OLED is in its infancy and with the work Samsung is doing to improve the display, is commendable.
