The consolidated net income stood at 4.46 trillion won, an increase of 17 percent year-on-year and consolidates operating profit at 4.86 trillion won.

Samsung also published figures of individual businesses, out of which the semiconductor biz recorded the best quarterly earnings.

The LCD panel business posted revenue of 8.10 trillion won with an operating profit of 520 billion won. As for the Q4 outlook, Samsung reckons weak demand for TV and monitor panels whereas demand will pick up for notebook panels.

The mobile handset is another biz where Samsung have posted strong profitability. The mobile handset sales were up 12 percent and recorded revenue of 11.12 trillion won with an operating profit of 1.13 trillion won. Samsung says they’ll try to increase its market share in Q4 with double digit operating profit.

Finally, the Digital Media business that includes TVs, cameras, IT solutions and appliances have posted a revenue of 14.13 trillion won which is a 10 percent increase year-on-year.

Samsung is expecting seasonal peak in TV sales in the fourth quarter and will expand its distribution channels.
