Samsung teams up with Visa to enable NFC mobile payments during London Olympics

Samsung and Visa who are the official partners of Olympic Games have announced their collaboration to bring mobile payments in London before and during the Olympic Games. Mobile Payment will be done via NFC (Near Field Communications) using Visa’s contactless payment technology and will be accepted at more than 60,000 locations across London.

As part of this initiative, Samsung will provide contactless enabled Olympics handset to Visa and other Samsung sponsored athletes. Samsung will also release a handset for consumers that will sell through distributors and mobile operators.
