Samsung Techwin to stop making phone camera modules

Samsung’s subsidiary, Techwin has announced to quit the phone camera modules manufacturing business. Complete halt of production and sales will be from June 30 and the reason for the closure is losses due to the decline in average selling price of the modules as well as increased competition.

Last year, Samsung Techwin posted an operating loss of 20 billion won.

Samsung Techwin will concentrate on making products related to security, defense, energy, precision control solutions for business etc.
