Check out the first images of the 10.1-inch WQXGA display that were announced earlier today. The images here we’re told is a lab demo panel, which means the panel does not show the full performance and quality of the 2560×1600 pixel screen. However, the prototype that will be showcased by Samsung and Nouvoyance at SID Display Week will be an improved one.
The panel is meant for tablets that uses PenTile RGBW technology and has a brightness up to 300cd/m2 of luminance, 300dpi and a color gamut of 72 percent.

AMora, perhaps you should read a little more. Ipad buys displays from LG and Samsung and maybe Sony.. The bad leaking Ipad2 displays that sprayed light out the sides was an LG display they were forced to use because Samsung didn’t have enough displays to provide to Apple. So I am sure the Ipad3 will indeed have a better screen then the former model, it will be only as good as what someone will sell them. You might not understand that a good display manufacturing plant cost about 11 Billion USD. Or at least that is how much Samsung says their new plant set to open in late 2011 has mentioned.
