Samsung aims for 40 percent smartphone market share in India

Samsung is planning to capture at least 40 percent of the smartphone market share in India by end of this year. Samsung currently holds a 23 percent market share in India but country head of Mobile and IT, Ranjit Yadav reckons they can achieve it due to a wide range of smartphones running on different operating systems. Samsung India sells devices based on Android and bada but Yadav also hinted to launch Windows Phone 7 devices, which is yet to launch in India.

Samsung is in second place in India after Nokia.
